Lily Maisky was born in Paris, moving to Brussels soon after. She began playing the piano at the age of four. Lily was a pupil at the Purcell School of Music from 2001 till 2005, where she also studied jazz piano. She has received master classes and musical advice from renowned artists including Martha Argerich, Dmitri Bashkirov, Joseph Kalichstein and Pavel Gililov, to name a few.
Lily made her debut at a Rainforest Foundation charity gala concert at the Carnegie Hall. She has participated in recordings with her father Mischa Maisky for Deutsche Grammophon. Lily has released a live recording of Martha Argerich Project from EMI. She has taken part in many recordings. Many of her performances have been frequently broadcasted on television and radio around the world.
Active as solo and chamber orchestra member, Lily has been invited to many of the great festivals such as the Verbier Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Schlesswig-Holstein Music Festival, Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, the Edinburgh Festival, the Beijing Piano Festival, and so on.
She has performed at such prestigious venues as the Royal Festival Hall in London, Vienna's Concerthaus, Moscow Conservatory, Venezia's La Fenice, and Tokyo's Suntory Hall among many others.
Lily has performed solo in concertos under the batons of maestros Leonard Slatkin, Thomas Sanderling, Gerd Albrecht, Daniel Raiskin, and Alberto Veronesi, amongst others.
She has a predilection for chamber music and has performed with Mischa Maisky, her father, as well as Julian Rachlin, Janine Jansen, Renaud Capucon, Nicholas Angelich, and others.
