After holding earlier music festivals with Martha Argerich in Oita Prefecture starting in 1994, the events evolved into MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu. We also hold Pinocchio Concerts (school concerts, etc.), Norimatsu Commemorative Concerts (hospital concerts, etc.), and other music events, as activities to contribute to society through music. Argerich Arts Foundation was established in 2007 with President Martha Argerich and Chairman Katsusada Hirose (Governor of Oita Prefecture).


1994:
January Planned by pianists Martha Argerich and Kyoko Ito, "The 9th JEE concert Martha Argerich Chamber Music Festival" was held in Tokyo, Kyoto, Yamaguchi and Oita. The concert was the first performance by Martha Argerich in Oita.
April Kyoko Ito was requested to become Music Adviser of Beppu Convention Bureau.
October Martha Argerich assumed the post of Honorary Music Director of Philharmonia Hall of Beppu B-Con Plaza.
1995:
September "Beppu Argerich Concert '95"
November Concert recommended by Argerich, "Fabulous! A Collaboration of Soloists"
1996:
April Concert recommended by Argerich, "Concert by the New Japan Philharmonic conducted by Seiji Ozawa"
August The Executive Committee of MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu was established.
Martha Argerich officially assumed the post of the General Director of the Music Festival and Kyoko Ito assisted the General Director as Vice-Chairperson of the Executive Committee.
1997:
July Concert recommended by Argerich, "Asian Youth Orchestra"
September Concert recommended by Argerich, "Hommage a Piazzolla" (Gidon Kremer)
December The Certificate of Honorary Foreign Citizen of Oita Prefecture was bestowed on Martha Argerich.

November The 1st MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
1999:
March Kyoko Ito became General Producer of the Music Festival
November The 2nd MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
In 2000 the Music Festival was not held as its schedule was changed from autumn to spring.
2001:
April The 3rd MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
2002:
April The 4th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
October The Executive Committee of the Music Festival developed into the Organizing Committee, and the Governor of Oita Prefecture became the Chairman of the Committee.
2003:
May The 5th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
Concerts commemorating the 5th Anniversary of the Music Festival were held in Tokyo.
2004:
May The 6th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
2005:
May The 7th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
October The 17th "Praemium Imperiale" was awarded to Martha Argerich (General Director of the Music Festival) from the Japan Art Association.
November "The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" was conferred upon General Director Martha Argerich by the Government of Japan, based on her achievements contributing to the development of music culture in Japan and fosterage of young musicians.
December Meeting Points: Chevaliers of the Music Festival were set up at 14 places in Oita Prefecture (Nakatsu, Hita, Saiki, Usuki, Tsukumi, Taketa, Bungotakada, Kitsuki, Usa, Bungoono, Yufu, Hiji, Kokonoe, and Kusu).
2006:
April The 8th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
In February, a group of people from Korea expressed their intention to come to the Music Festival as part of their tour to Oita. About forty people came to Oita on a tour for the Music Festival.
2007:
March The Argerich Arts Foundation was established.
April The 9th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
About fifty people came to the 9th Music Festival on a tour from Korea.
Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Special Concert Vol.1 was held in Seoul, Korea. (Argerich visited Korea for the first time in thirteen years.)
2008:
May The 10th Anniversary MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
The Music Festival was honored with the presence of Her Imperial Majesty at the 10th anniversary Music Festival concert in Tokyo.
About fifty people came to the 10th Music Festival on a tour from Korea.
Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Special Concert Vol.2 was held in Seoul, Korea.
2009:
May The 11th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
About fifty people came to the 11th Music Festival on a tour from Korea.
Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Special Concert Vol. 3 was held in Seoul, Korea.
Seoul became the 15th Argerich's Meeting Point: Chevalier.
2010:
April The 12th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Special Concert Vol. 4 was held in Seoul, Korea.
A concert of the Music Festival was held in Fukuoka for the first time.
December Kunisaki and Himeshima became the 16th and 17th Argerich's Meeting Point: Chevaliers.
2011:
May The 13th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
Kitakyushu City became the 18th Argerich's Meeting Point: Chevalier.
November The construction of "Shiiki presents Argerich's Haus" announced.
2012:
May The 14th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argrich's Meeting Point in Beppu.
