Shiiki presents Argerich's Haus

MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich's Meeting Point in Beppu is a " Treasure of Oita " which was born out of a meeting with Martha Argerich, one of the most prominent artists in the world. Argerich Arts Foundation will build Shiiki Argerich Haus to honor Ms. Argerich and add great value to the history of art in Oita Prefecture, the place where western music was performed for the first time in Japan. The Haus will be completed in 2013 celebrating the Music Festival's 15th anniversary.

[Purpose]
Sharing Argerich's concepts of pursuing the role of art in society and fostering human resources who are responsible for the next generation, we will give a shape to her concepts to hand them over to the future, recognizing her achievements and making history from the past to the present and toward the future.
